Creating a Strong Family Life Centered on God

In creating a strong family life centered on God, there must be shared time together. The word of God said that “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-8). These timeless advice of Moses is the foundation for Biblical spirituality in the home. Time together is the bonding mortar that brings us together before God in live.

For God to be first in our lives, His will must be regularly discussed and applied in our daily home life. What we truly love most of all will show up in our priorities, what we talk about, and how we use our time.To communicate the priority of loving God, we must spend time together. The daily family hour needs to be kept in homes that glorify God. As this becomes part of the family routine to read God’s Word together, you then become more comfortable in discussing the practical, specific applications of Scripture in the home.

Do You Feel God’s Presence in your Everyday Life?

I recently read an article taken from a Daily Guide for Joyful Living by Sally Dyck and I totally agree what she wrote about why sometimes we feel the presence of God and sometimes we don’t. As a Christian, when we can sense and feel it, we know that the presence of God is here. We touch, feel, perceive, sense  and notice God around and within us.

When you have a passionate faith where you deeply sense God’s presence,  you can jump around, raise your hands, shout out loud and cry a lot every time you feel His presence.

But why is it that sometimes we feel the presence of God and sometimes we don’t? Why is it that some people seemingly sense God’s presence in their lives more readily than others?

We have a way of knowing God’s presence through our mind, our senses, our feelings, and our intuition. Experiencing the passionate presence of God means that we seek to sense, notice and perceive God around us such as going to church, reading the Bible, and praying. In that way, we  may begin to sense God’s presence in anything or anywhere.

As for me, I’m giving my everyday ordinary life as an offering to God so that God will meet me where I’m at whether or not it’s a place I would expect to see or experience God. I know God will transform the way I see the world around me, my friends and family as well as strangers, my work and my daily tasks of life.

Blogging to Worship and Share God’s Word

I was reading some passages from the Bible online today and I came across this website about worship which is designed to anyone who wants to use music and words to magnify God. I can totally relate myself to his blog post because as a worship leader and a blogger, I just don’t write articles in order to get paid from blogging and earn money from it but I also want to share God’s Word through my blog that’s why I created this blog.

I actually manage 20 blogs with different niches. Most of them are money earning blogs but this one is totally different from the rest of my blogs. This is my Christian inspirational blog were I write my thoughts, my experiences and my life being a Christian. I usually share my thoughts on worship and music and also recommend resources that have helped me gain a more biblical understanding. I love to worship to extend beyond singing in order to influence my readers  thought, word and action.

If you’re one of my avid reader and follower of this blog,  I pray that this blog will encourage you. If you grow in your understanding of worship and music that will be great. But my real hope is that you’ll see more clearly that the only life worth living is the one that magnifies God’s supreme worth and the grace that is only found in Jesus Christ.

So, if you’re a worship leader, Pastor, Christian musician, or simply a follower of Jesus Christ who wants to deepen your love for the Lord, I hope you’ll find this blog helpful. Thanks for reading and God bless you abundantly! :)

God is in Control of Everything

There are occasions when God wants to show His wrath and to make known on His power. That’s what we have experienced when our city got hit by typhoon a month ago.  The devastation ruined many lives, properties and belongings.

When my family and I was at the rooftop, I have seen and heard many people screaming, crying and calling for help. In the middle of the flood, we prayed and asked God for help. I know that God is in control of everything so I was not scared or worried about it. The song “STILL” from the Hillsong suddenly popped up in my mind and we sang this song and worship God during the storm.

God is in complete control when His people are being persecuted. God controls all things, working out everything in conformity with the plan and purpose of His own will.We do not expect to understand fully the purpose for our trials until our Lord calls us home to be with Him. But we do know that He loves us too much to harm us, and that He is far more concerned with our welfare than we are. God’s choices are always right.

Nothing in this universe happens by chance or accident. For every effect there is a cause. God works all things after the counsel of His own will…that we should give praise for his glory.

Dealing with Difficult People

When you lead a group, you will deal with people and  eventually, you will come across group members with problems like these. We all know a lot of people are unreasonable and even we as  Christians who will run into people but they will not listen, deal, resolve, or handle things  in God’s way. They only want their way to be followed.

But I know that with each type of  this kind of person, prayer is a key because God has brought the person to our group for a reason, and it might be to help us grow as a disciple and a leader. All we need is to pray for this person and ask for wisdom to handle the situation.

Prayer is the most important act for us in any manner and we have to remember that obedience is what counts and not how others respond to us.  We are even called to bless these unreasonable people and we do that by remaining true to His Lordship in our maturity.

We will not get discourage about the situation and let the bad people get you down.  We will not allow ourselves to suffer in our spiritual pilgrimage because of someone else. Remember, Do not let yourself fall to the world’s way, regardless of what the other person does. Give them over to God because He is the one who dispenses justice and revenge and not you.

Managing our Money

Did you know what most topic that Jesus talk about more than anything else in the Bible? It’s not salvation, prayer, heaven and repentance but it was money. Yes, you read it right. Go to any Christian book store and you’ll see only a handful of Christian books written on money. You’ll see shelves of books of secular books on finances, investing, accounting, etc. but the Bible presents a different set of principles. What are these principles and what does the Bible have to say about money?

The basic attitude that we should bear in our mind is that  is that it’s not our money. All money, wealth and possessions belongs to God. We are simply entrusted with money like the servants entrusted with the talents. Since it’s not our money, it’s not our problem to worry about it. It’s only our responsibility to use it correctly.

Since we are God’s stewards, we must invest our money in ways that God instructs. If your broker disobeyed you, you’d fire him. So, don’t disobey God’s instructions or God will no longer ask you to be His caretaker of His wealth, and will be likely to stop blessing you. Seek knowledge from God and the Bible. Fools refuse instruction. People are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Seek wisdom first, then all other things are added. Seek the kingdom first, and all will be added to you.

You must save the excess portion that you get from all your hard work. You must save to become wealthy. Saving means spending less than you earn. It requires self-control which is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. There is no other way to become wealthy. You must have a savings in order for it to be blessed.

Store your treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust can steal. Recognize that it all belongs to God. And therefore, be a wise steward of what God has entrusted to you. Wealth comes with responsibility not only to defend and protect it, but to use it wisely, to give it away wisely, and to invest it into the Kingdom of God.There is a purpose for wealth. For increasing the Kingdom of God.To me, investing in the Kingdom of God means to start back and seek Bible knowledge. And then to teach that knowledge to others specially to those who are interested just like what I’m writing on this blog my dear friends.

Why Watch a Christian Movie?

One of the Christian movie that I was blessed to watched with is the movie  the ” Time Changer”.  I have been blessed by this movie because it truly promoted the Lord. I have watched Christian films from individuals to the big budget productions. The big budget films might be higher quality, but both have strong and inspiring messages. As a Christian I would like to see more faith-based movies available.

The movie industry has proved to be a great influence on Americans and when you think about how many of our teens are flooding theaters, how are they being influenced? The rapid decline of truth and lack of morals in movies must be stopped if the next generation is going to learn how to live for the glory of God. If we do not stand up against the defiling scenes that are in the media now can you imagine what it will be like in ten years?

This movie Time Changer explains in a very entertaining way how when you take the authority of God out of teaching morals you are asking for trouble. As we can see, a large percentage  of Americans who claims to be “Christian” and with most films from Hollywood containing extreme violence, excessive sexual content and consistently blaspheme God.

Some Christian filmmakers have used their own money to get a film into theaters and then just prayed it would cover costs. The meaning of a successful movie to most Christian filmmakers is not monetary, but in touching lives and bringing glory to God.

I hope you can see why Christian movies are so important and you will make a decision to help promote them in whatever way you can. The growing number of Christian filmmakers is raising awareness and possibilities for future Christian movies. If Christians will buy DVDs by Christian filmmakers and help get the word out about upcoming Christian films more will go see them and in turn Christian filmmakers will be able to make higher quality films with well-known actors or actresses in the future. Christians must take a stand against what is conflicting to God’s Word.

So grab the popcorn and the Christian movie of your choice and enjoy a family movie night. Christian films are not only for Christians, but also to help non-Christians learn what is true and how to walk everyday and in every situation, with God.

My Greatest Inspiration

Since I became a Born Again Christian a few years ago, my life was completely changed, renewed and I am filled with God’s spirit and blessings. And it is all because of my hubby who is used by God as an instrument in helping me changed my way of life and made me became a true believer and a follower of  Christ.

My hubby, Me and My Mother in law

My hubby’s family helped me and mold me in becoming a true Christian. I am so thankful to God that I had found a good family who devoted their life completely on Jesus Christ. Their family was the pioneering of our church. All their time and effort they give it all to the church. My mother in law was our Senior Pastor but she died a few months ago and  she was replaced by my brother in law who is the Youth Pastor of our church.

My father in law, brother in law and my hubby

I am really inspired by their family since they are a Family of Musicians. My mother in law was used to be the song leader, my father in law was the bassist, my brother in law was the drummer and my hubby was the lead / rhythm guitarist.

When I became part of their family, I became the Praise and Worship leader of our church. I am so thankful to God because He had given me this anointing and talent to usher and welcome his Holy Spirit. I am not just performing in front of many people but I am using my talent to glorify God.

My hubby is the lead guitarist and at the same time the music director of our Church Music Team. I am also blessed with my daughter’s talent because at her very young age, she is now showing her talent and skills in playing the drums. I know she will develop this talent when she grows up and she will also continue doing God’s work just like her parents.

It is truly a Blessing and Honor for us like what the scripture in the Bible says in Joshua 24:15  that “As For Me and My House, We Will Serve The Lord” and it is definitely what we are doing now. Me and my Greatest Inspiration which is my family are very  much happy in serving the Lord with all our hearts.

I’m the Singer while My Hubby’s the Guitarist

Well yes it is. This is our life as a member of the music ministry . I am actually the song leader of our church. As the worship leader, I am the one who will choose the song for our Praise and Worship service every Sunday. Sometimes I find it hard to choose what song we will have to play and sing with since we have to fit it for the whole congregation where all the members can familiarize the song. But we have to choose a new song so that not all old songs will be played every week.

I am always looking for a new Christian Songs here in the internet or in Youtube every week and I have to show it first to my fellow music team members if they will agree on the certain song that I chose.

Every Saturday, we have our music team’s practice and we will do a “sepra” on the new song that we have to play. We always bring our MP4 player so we can hear the original tune of the song and it is easier for us to follow what kind of chords that certain song are using. But often times, we don’t follow the original because they will follow my keys since I don’t have a very high pitch voice and I am usually using the key of D and G.

My hubby is the guitarist of our church. He is also the trainer who teaches of all our fellow music team who plays the base guitar, the drums, keyboard and the acoustic guitar. His job is actually hard since he had to teach all of them specially when we practice a new song and tune. However, he easily manages it because our fellow team members are cooperative and willing enough to know how to play the song.

I can easily memorize the lyrics and tune of the song too so it is easier for my hubby to play a certain new song since he already knows my key. We can make a good tune and melody together. I am so thankful to God for that talent He had given us. And in return, we are using our talent to usher His Holy Presence and to glorify His Holy Name.

Praise the Living God!
