Soaking in His Presence

We had an awesome praise and worship yesterday in our church. The spirit of God was moving even before we started singing praises to Him. Being in the music team and being the worship leader, it is really an effective way that we should be soaking in His presence first before we will usher His presence to the congregation.

Being in the presence of the Lord is considered the single most important part of our lives. While in a sense, it is always with us and we cannot live without it, we find ourselves hungering for it more and more.

Practicing His presence through worship is one of the most valuable things we can do. God has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and we will experience His presence in ever increasing measures. The Holy Spirit will speak things to our heart in times of soaking as it also saturate, infuse and drench ourselves in the presence of God as we praise and worship Him.

Busy for Our Upcoming Christian Music Concert

One of the things that made me so busy offline is our church music teams practice for our upcoming Christian Music concert which will be held in different places. We will be preparing today for a mini concert in Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City and on October 30, we are also invited to play at one of the biggest shopping mall here in our city.

We are so thankful to God for this opportunity that He had given us.  We are not just performers who are performing in front of the stage but we are bringing the glory and honor of God as we share the good news about Jesus through the songs that were gonna play and sing which is all Christian music. Our music band’s new name is now The “Himaya Band” which means the Glory band. It is not for our glory but it is through Jesus Christ alone. Thank You Lord for this awesome favor!

It’s Not Glory to Me But It’s Glory to God

We are so thankful to God that our church music team was able to perform live at two of the most popular places where people usually visit and have some fun. Last Saturday during the fiesta celebration of our city, we performed live at Divisoria together with some other youth bands. Most of them are playing secular and wordly songs but our band was different from the rest. We played Christian songs because we want to share God’s music specially to the unbelievers. We played it with a twist. We turned the original tune of the song into reggae and ska genre type of music so people could ride along with it. It ended with a blast and we thanked God for His unmerited favor.

Another opportunity came for our music team when we were able to play live the following day at Limketkai Mall in celebration of the Biswal Mindanao Art exhibit. That’s me leading the vocals while singing a visayan praise song. We once again  humbled ourselves down before God and we prayed that its not us who will be seen by the people but it will be God who will be glorified. We greatly thanked the Lord for His goodness. We recently received an offer and they want us to play in different places. Wow! what a great blessing! Thank you Lord! You never cease to amaze us. Glory to You alone!

Why Do We Praise and Worship God?

Have you ever asked yourself why do you praise and worship God? Is it because we need to do it or is it because it of your intimated devotion and love for God? You know my friends, there is only one book that has the answers to all these questions. The Bible is the wonderful and mysterious book that God has chosen as a way to communicate with us.

God is the focus of our devotion in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In Exodus 20:2-3, God says, “I am the LORD your God …..You shall have no other gods before me.” In Matthew 4:10, Jesus says, “Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.” So, worship is not merely a natural instinct but it’s a command from God.

God alone is worthy of our devotion, praise and worship. He is God, our Creator, and we are commanded to praise and worship Him. A life of praise and worship fills our deepest needs, and amazingly, it also brings great joy to God.

Many people think that praise and worship is only singing songs at church, but there’s so much more in it. It is also a condition of your heart and a willingness to exalt God and yield to his will. Worship is an expression of love and awe to the God who gives us more than we deserve. Whether you express your worship by singing, playing music, dancing or in some other way, remember that you are called to worship God with your every action, every day of your life. God is holy, loving, and worthy of all our worship and devotion.
