Soaking in His Presence

We had an awesome praise and worship yesterday in our church. The spirit of God was moving even before we started singing praises to Him. Being in the music team and being the worship leader, it is really an effective way that we should be soaking in His presence first before we will usher His presence to the congregation.

Being in the presence of the Lord is considered the single most important part of our lives. While in a sense, it is always with us and we cannot live without it, we find ourselves hungering for it more and more.

Practicing His presence through worship is one of the most valuable things we can do. God has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and we will experience His presence in ever increasing measures. The Holy Spirit will speak things to our heart in times of soaking as it also saturate, infuse and drench ourselves in the presence of God as we praise and worship Him.

Why Do We Praise and Worship God?

Have you ever asked yourself why do you praise and worship God? Is it because we need to do it or is it because it of your intimated devotion and love for God? You know my friends, there is only one book that has the answers to all these questions. The Bible is the wonderful and mysterious book that God has chosen as a way to communicate with us.

God is the focus of our devotion in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In Exodus 20:2-3, God says, “I am the LORD your God …..You shall have no other gods before me.” In Matthew 4:10, Jesus says, “Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.” So, worship is not merely a natural instinct but it’s a command from God.

God alone is worthy of our devotion, praise and worship. He is God, our Creator, and we are commanded to praise and worship Him. A life of praise and worship fills our deepest needs, and amazingly, it also brings great joy to God.

Many people think that praise and worship is only singing songs at church, but there’s so much more in it. It is also a condition of your heart and a willingness to exalt God and yield to his will. Worship is an expression of love and awe to the God who gives us more than we deserve. Whether you express your worship by singing, playing music, dancing or in some other way, remember that you are called to worship God with your every action, every day of your life. God is holy, loving, and worthy of all our worship and devotion.
